Schmidt, Lewis G. Florida’s Keys and Fevers, Volume III of The Civil War in Florida, A Military History. Allentown, Pennsylvania, self-published, 1992. I must comment on this amazing work. Mr. Schmidt, with the assistance of his wife Janeth, has written over 4500 pages on Florida in the Civil War. Almost the entire series consist of quotes from direct source material. The hours of effort involved is beyond comprehension.
